'Een hele bos werk' 💇‍♀️

Hallo iedereen!!

I got a haircut this week from our RS president -- she commented on how thick my hair was, saying it was a whole lot of work 😂 But she also said it was very healthy, shout out to my mom for helping me there haha!

This week was so good! We were really busy and had a lot of fun. 

- We recorded the audio to our music video! It always takes way longer than you think it will haha. We're recording the video for it this Thursday and I'm pretty excited!

- We went to our RS activity! We took a little road trip around Friesland, visiting all the kleine dorpjes (the little towns) to see more of the countryside! It was so fun, I love our RS :)

- We did exchanges with the sisters in our district!! Zr Dunford en Zr Packard came and spent the day with me in Leeuwarden. So much fun!!! 

- We made a new friend this week named Andrea!! We've met with her 4 times in the past week. She's so excited to learn and has so many questions!! She's told us so many times that she just wants to get to know Jesus Christ and God better. Well luckily, the missionaries are the best ones to help you with that 😉

- Broeder TH came to church this week!!!! We've met with him every week since I got here. He hasn't been to church in years. So after a lot of relationship building and getting another brother in the branch involved, he made it to church!!! And he brought his son :)) it made me so happy to see them there!! The power of relationships with members of the ward and branch is so important! 

- I cut my hand slicing cheese yesterday. Then gave myself a papercut. And took a chunk out of my finger this morning grocery shopping. So my hands are just going through it right now. 🤷‍♀️😂

I studied a little more about Peter walking on water this week. One talk I listened to suggested that Peter didn't lose faith in the Lord when he started to sink. He had enough faith to get out of the boat and walk towards Him on the water. He knew the Lord would save him when he reached up for help. So why did the Lord say "oh ye of little faith?" Maybe Peter lacked faith in himself. He knew Christ could help him walk on water, he knew Christ could save him. But maybe it was him getting distracted and losing faith in himself that made him start to sink. The Lord wants us to have faith in ourselves!!! That's something I definitely need to work on haha, because God has given me something to do here and He knows I can do it. So I need to know that too!!

I made it!!! I'm here!! As a zendeling in Virginia!! It's my first P day in the field, and WOW. It's been crazy. So so crazy.  Monday we flew to DC!! There were 25 or so missionaries that flew in. It's the biggest group they've had in a long time. We met President and Sister Crankshaw and the APs and drove to the mission home. We had dinner and a little meeting, then went to a hotel to stay the night. Tuesday we met at the stake center for a few more meetings, then we met our trainers!!!!! My trainer is Sister Rogers and she is AMAZING. We're like the same person I love her haha!! I'm so grateful I got a trainer I get along with, It's definitely made the transition to missionary life easier.  We do a lot of service!! God Loves Us--Rainbows and Prayers

 You guys!!  Ah this is crazy, it's already been two weeks. ....And it's only been two weeks. There is just so much!!  But a few stories from this week!!  Wednesday we had district council. It was so fun!! We played a version of Jeopoardy, put together by the district leaders. It involved nerf guns and lots of random questions. As you do, you know.  I was kind of struggling after district council. I have this problem where I want to know everything but I want to skip the process of actually learning  it. Niet prima... everything is this way. getting to know people, learning dutch, learning how to be a good missionary, literally everything. There's nothing you can do that you'll be good at the first time!! And that frustrates me sometimes!! It was hitting me pretty hard on Wednesday. "I'm not interested"

Hallo iedereen!! Here we are again. It's funny how some weeks fly by, and others just ... don't. This week was a little longer. We've been doing a lot of finding! And haven't really found much! We knocked a door on Tuesday. A lady answered, but she didn't speak english. She had her son come talk to us. We said we had a message to share about families! And he said we could come back the next day!!! So we went back Wednesday to teach him and his family. But ... his dad answered the door through the ring doorbell. (I don't like those things. At all.) He said thanks for coming, but because of our religion we can't talk about. Which was weird, because we've definitely talked to other people of that religion before. But ok, I guess...
